Dear Parent/Guardian,
Please fill in the personal information sheet. Do check the almanac every day for any note from the teachers on assignments, or other information and sign alongside to acknowledge that you have read these. If you wish to convey any message to a teacher, do ask your child to show the almanac to the teacher concerned. If there is no teacher's signature or reply, please call the school and seek an appointment with the teacher.
Students must bring the almanac to the school every day

Children must wear plain, black, rubber-soled running shoes made from material that allows air circulation. There should be no other colour or design on the shoe.
Students must not use expensive or fancy jewellery, shoes, bags, pencils, or lunch boxes. From Grade III onwards, they may wear simple analogue watches. Girls may wear small, unobtrusive earrings in the earlobe.
Transport
School Bus
- For students using the school transport, parents must ensure that they pick up and drop off their child at the designated bus stop, on time.
- In the morning, students should not be left unescorted at the bus stop. In the afternoon, parents must be present at the bus stop to pick up their child, failing which the student concerned will be brought back to the school, and their parents will be required to pick them up from the school.
- Bus Diary:
The bus in-charge maintains a diary to record the attendance and any other observation, which can include maintenance, timing issues, and observations on students/guardians, etc. - Bus Routes:
In selecting the bus stops, safety will take precedence over convenience. All bus routes are developed with safety and efficiency as priorities. Students are expected to be present at the bus stop five minutes prior to the scheduled time of arrival of the school bus. If a bus does not arrive as scheduled, please call the school’s Administrative Officer.
Bus Rules
- Students need to wait for the bus to come to a complete halt before boarding or disembarking.
- Once on board the bus, students must be seated at all times and stand only when the bus comes to a halt.
- Students must exit and enter through the front door only.
- The bus must not be littered or vandalized.
- Students must ensure they do not throw anything out of the bus windows or doors.
- Students must not stick any part of their body, or any object, out of the bus while it is in motion.
- Any incident of negligence or rash driving must be reported to the Head of School immediately.
- Students are expected to ensure the safety and well-being of students junior to them.
- Inappropriate behavior in the bus would have consequences; withdrawal of the bus facility could be one of those. All school rules apply within the school bus as well.
- We discourage children from carrying junk food in the bus.
Private Transport
Students travelling by private transport must ensure that they are in the school by 7:50 a.m.; and should be picked up at 2:15 p.m.
Parents/designated escorts must present the escort card to the teacher on dispersal duty before picking up the child. After 2:30 p.m. the student concerned will have to be picked up form the office of the Head of the School.
Leave From School
Short Leave:
For safety, students will be allowed to leave school only at the scheduled time. Only authorised persons carrying the escort I-card will be allowed to pick up a student. In case a student needs to leave early, the parent/guardian should inform the Head of School or the Class Teacher well in advance through an application.
Absenteeism:
Whenever the child is absent, the parents (s) should inform the school in writing stating the reason for absence. The respective Class Teacher must also be contacted to learn about the work the child has missed. In case of extended illness, a doctor's certificate is to be sent with the student on the day of re-joining the school.
Health and Safety
Medications:
The school policy for administering medication requires all medication to be given at home. The school personnel are not permitted to dispense medication, unless the parent concerned has informed them in writing. If any medication is brought to school, it should be handed over to the Class Teacher/School Nurse, alongside clear instruction about when it needs to be administered, and the dosage. This must be repeated on every occasion when medicine is brought to school.
If any child shows symptoms of a communicable disease or an infection, the parent concerned must notify the school office immediately. No child is to be allowed to re-join the school till the quarantine period is over.
First Aid:
There are facilities at the school for students to take rest if they are not feeling well. If a child has not recovered sufficiently to return to class within a short span of time, the respective parents will be contacted to pick the student up from school. Minor injuries will be attended by trained school personnel, or by the School Nurse. Parent(s) will be contacted and requested to take over the responsibility for any care that goes beyond 'first aid.' It is imperative that the school has the emergency phone number(s), in case the parent(s) concerned cannot be reached.
In case of emergencies, students may be taken to 'Pragati' Hospital, with which the school has a tie-up.
Security:
The school has a closed campus, which means that students will not be able to leave the campus without prior intimation from their parents. A closed campus also means visitors and non-students must check in through the school office before being allowed to visit the school. Personal security guards or drivers are not permitted to remain in the school building during the course of the day.
Emergency Drills:
The school has an emergency plan to help ensure the safety of students in the event of a fire or any other disaster (such as an earthquake or an intruder inside the school building). Throughout the academic year, drills and evacuations are conducted on a regular basis to familiarize both students and staff with the school's emergency procedures. In compliance with state regulations, fire drills are held regularly during the academic year. Specific instructions for the fire exits are posted inside every room.
Discipline:
The school believes in self-discipline. Students breaching school norms are encouraged to self-reflect and discuss issues with their teachers. There is an escalation process with well-defined consequences for repeated infringements, which are implemented after discussion with the student concerned. If required, parents are also called in for the discussion.
Mobile Phones:
Students are not to bring mobile phones, iPods, toys or personal sports equipment to school; unless asked for by a teacher for a specific activity. If a child needs to carry a phone for an after-school activity, it must be deposited with the Class Teacher in the first period of the day; and taken back when the school gets over.
Parents
Communication:
The school sends regular circulars and newsletters to inform parents about the activities at the school. Home assignments, student's performance, forthcoming projects are regularly sent through the student's almanac. Parents are requested to check the almanac every day; and acknowledge such information by counter-signing them. Parents may communicate with teachers through e-mail or notes sent with their children. They may also call the child's Class Teacher after school hours, if any matter requires urgent and immediate attention. Otherwise, they are to send a message, to which the teacher concerned will respond, as soon as possible.
Seeking an appointment:
If a parent wishes to discuss the student's progress with a specific subject teacher, an appointment should be taken from the Class Teacher for a time convenient for both, Similarly, if a parent wishes to meet the principal/Head of School, a note should be sent to the Class Teacher who will communicate a suitable time. Parents can also call up the school's reception desk, or send an e-mail to seek an appointment.
Review meetings:
Two review meetings will be held, one in each term. The dates of the meetings will be intimated well in advance. The purpose of a review meeting is for the parent and the teacher to have a mutual discussion on the student's performance
Students bringing money to school:
Students will not bring money to school for any reason. If they need to buy anything from the school tuck shop, parents can raise an indent in the format shared with them; and the same will be billed, along with the fee for the next quarter.
Al stationery requirements are included in the annual book and stationery bill. Students will not be asked to bring any money or any stationery items from home. in exceptional cases, such as in the case of payment for a special event, a formal note will be sent by the Head of the Schoo. If a child makes any request for money, the parents concerned should discuss the matter with the Class Teacher.
Assessment
Assessment Schedule:
The school believes in authentic assessment, i.e., students are assessed as they work. Reviews are continuous; and do not require any additional preparation. The purpose of assessments is to gauge areas of strength and challenges; and take appropriate action. To ensure that every child succeeds, teachers and parents are to provide support, where required.
Reports:
The academic year is divided into two terms. Report cards are issued at the end of each term. The CBSE requirement will be followed Grade IX onwards.
Report cards must be collected from the respective Class Teacher by the parents themselves; and are to be signed and sent back to the Class Teacher at the earliest. If any Report card is lost, the Class Teacher is to be promptly informed; and a duplicate will be issued.
